The link above takes you to Skip Sievert's Technocracy blog. I am often challenged to offer a solution when I criticise some of the positions adhered to by my fellow activists. I am in the process of learning more myself, but I am becoming convinced that when we say we need to do something different, Technocracy, or something very similar to it, is what must ultimately happen. I urge you all to review the information on Technocracy, and let's engage in a discussion about it's strengths and weaknesses, and, even more importantly, about the feasibility of incorporating Technocracy into the liberation and empowerment movement in which we are currently engaged. In the spirit of the Exodus Mentality, I urge you to Free Your Mind.
Some of you are going to immediately put up your defenses based on your initial perception of the concepts embodied in the above statement on Technocracy. Your preconceived notions of how the world works, and the indoctrination you have been exposed to by simply living in the R/WS system where capitalism is king, will make you see socialism where there is none. I say this up front, because I have neither the time nor inclination to de-program anyone. Commentary indicative of an unwillingness or inability to view this concept outside of the normal parameters of your thought processes and experiences will in all likelihood be deleted. The discussion of this concept should not be sidetracked with dogma and determined resistance to something new simply because it resembles something old and outdated.
Beyond that I welcome thoughtful critique and I am hopeful that there will be others more knowledgeable than myself regarding Technocracy concepts and practical application who can further enlighten us all.
